Valentine's Day Love Hop

This is a mirror blog post for those of you who have not switched your GFC membership to my new location: http://ageisjustanumber.deeswhite.com

Once Upon a Twilight

The ladies over at Good Choice Reading and Once Upon a Twilight came up with the idea to celebrate Valentine's day with a Blog Hop that would allow book bloggers to share some really GREAT Books with LOVE! At the last count, 78 other blogs (including myself) thought it was a fabulous idea and joined up.

For my love related giveaway I teamed up with a fellow author and we're each going to give away a copy of our books. Since this giveaway is about love, allow me to share the definition of love that I live by:
1 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 3 If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. ---1 Cor. 13:1-7 NLT
Once I started using this scripture as a measuring stick, it became clear to me that I had to work on loving myself before I could even address giving or receiving love from a husband. That also filtered into the everyday love relationships with family and friends and helped clearly define who was friend versus who was merely an acquaintance. I invite you to try it yourself.

Okay, now for the goodies! LOL.

She is fresh out of a long-term relationship and has completed the two-year mandatory wound-licking I-hate-men mourning period. Unfortunately for Divine, someone neglected to inform her that dating has been upgraded to new millennium level. But maybe she shouldn't worry … hemlines aren't the only things that have gone up. Thirty-somethings are premium dating material now … at least for the twenty-year-olds … Divine s experiences are the basis for the serial memoir I call Age Is Just a Number, a lens through which to view the world of online dating. Hope Park and Patricia Johnson were best friends for years until deep, dark secrets surfaced. As a senior in college, sweet, virginal Hope was planning her life years in advance, a medical degree in her sights. However, one fateful choice later, and her future begins to unravel. Three days before graduation, Hope discovers a new person in her life, and everything changes. Now, family becomes the priority. Five years pass trapped in a relationship that is stretched across continents, raising a child alone, and now, confronted by a best friend’s irreparable choice, Hope must find the strength to search for love–even if that means leaving all she knows behind. Convinced that moving to Africa to be with the father of her child is right, Hope steps into the questionable refuge of Adam’s arms, but after suffering another disappointment, she decides to follow a different love: traveling. Francois, Henry, and Hope became friends over a cup of coffee and pastries in the streets of Paris. The father of her child claims her weekdays and Francois, her nights and weekends. When trouble threatens to completely destroy the life Hope’s built, who will save her? Adam, the father of her child and profligate ladies man? Or Francois, the yet untested lover?
